Ashley Featured on PBS

Ashley was featured earlier this spring in Great Performances: Everyone Loves Joplin, part of the PBS series hosted by conductor Scott Yoo. The episode explores the life and legacy of composer Scott Joplin through conversations with musicians, scholars, and artists.

The program concludes with a special segment highlighting Treemonisha, the reimagined production Ashley has been developing with a Toronto-based company. The production incorporates African instruments and expands the story in its second act, with particular attention given to the ways these elements reshape Joplin’s work.

Several excerpts from the production are featured throughout the segment, including multiple solo performances by Ashley.
