The Central Park Five Premiere Recording

Ashley can be heard as Korey Wise in Long Beach Opera’s forthcoming recording of The Central Park Five, Anthony Davis’ Pulitzer Prize–winning opera inspired by the wrongful convictions of the five teenagers known as the Central Park Five. The recording will be released August 28 in partnership with Platoon.

Ashley’s connection to the work dates back to its original cast, where he premiered the role of Antron's Father. Returning to the opera as Korey Wise marks a new chapter in his relationship with Davis’ landmark work and brings him to the center of one of its most powerful stories.

The forthcoming release captures Long Beach Opera’s production and brings The Central Park Five to listeners worldwide, continuing Ashley’s work in contemporary opera and new music through projects that engage with ambitious music and culturally resonant subject matter.
